As a certified Music Therapist, I harness the transformative power of music to promote emotional expression, relaxation, self-awareness, and personal growth. Music Therapy offers music-based activities, such as songwriting, improvisation, listening exercises, and guided imagery, are incorporated to enhance therapeutic outcomes and foster a deeper connection between the mind, body, and spirit.
Marriage can be tricky. The difficulty lies in balancing life's stressors and ongoing management in the relationship to ensure you feel wholly accepted and understood by your partner. That's where couples therapy can make an impactful difference. My training in Emotion-Focused Therapy and Gottman Level 1 has aided in helping couples navigate relationship issues, improve communication and intimacy, and develop healthier patterns of interaction. A more secure attachment can be gained.
As humans, our baser instincts are to change and grow. But what if something in your life, past or present, prevents you? As your counselor, we'd explore these barriers through collaborative discussions and emotional and thought-provoking reflections. These barriers will be challenged sensitively and safely to make you feel more secure and empowered in new growth opportunities.
Self-doubt and insecurities can feel like huge setbacks. Suppose you've found that you tend to have a negative and hurtful perception of yourself and limited environments where you feel truly comfortable and confident in your abilities and instincts. Individual sessions will offer a non-judgmental space to lean into your strengths and confront factors that may prevent you from embracing them.
We can all agree that the teenage years can have a significant impact. Those years can be demanding as you look for your place and identity in the world, balance school, and your growing responsibilities, and establish and maintain genuine connections. My method is collaborative; I work with parents to help keep them informed about their teen's well-being while respecting the privacy and safety of the therapeutic environment for teens to express themselves and unload any baggage they may be carrying. Creative art therapies, such as music, poetry, gaming, and art, are combined with talk therapy to personalize the experience best and meet your unique goals and needs.
Due to the busyness of life, flexibility in scheduling may be needed. Depending on your preferences, telehealth may provide a platform that makes it easier for counseling to fit into your lifestyle by eliminating the need for travel and allowing you to get care from home. Telehealth counseling is provided over the phone and via video. Finding a cozy, secure, and safe environment within your home or other preferred location is encouraged to aid in the best therapeutic experience.
